DP rewiew K10D test
The three black-and-whites are perfect. It was black-and-white prints like this that got me started in photography in the 60's. I need to try and see what I can do with my new K100D. I haven't tried RAW yet, what did you use to convert the RAW images and what workflow, etc?
Mike
I used the Adobe Camera Raw converter to set the contrast and shadows to where I liked them, then set the sharpen at 50%
I exported the colour image to Photoshop and used the Channel Mixer in Monochrome mode to balance the luminosity of the colour channels.
Did some final levels and curves, some dodge and burn.
Oh ya, and I gave it some Film Grain set to 1 at the start of the workflow when I opened it in PS... just to highten that film look I was after.
Thanks for the information.

There is another issue, has anybody noticed that D40 got the same Feature rating as K100D, 8........
I just wonder how much Phil gets from Canon/Nikon ($$$) for such nice reviews .........

Doing my recent BW conversions from this camera has allowed me to get a more Tmax100 look! And I can pull out more detail in "overexposed" areas with less jagged artifacts...
Heres some examples where I had the stretch the tonal range:
