downloading from memory card to computer
Open file manager on the PC and see if the camera is listed there ...
Is the camera turned on?
If not - what PC Operating system are you using.

The other way is to use an SD card adaptor/reader plugged into USB. I use the cards with a built in USB connection so I just plug the card straight into one of my USB ports (its a SanDisk Ultra 4GB card).

Some computers have a built in card reader, have a look for the tell tale slots
Sorry can't help with the camera plugging in, never used that method since my very first 1mp camera

If your memory card is 4GB or bigger it'll be a SDHC one, so unless your VERY lucky and your reader is brand new, you may have to use the USB cable way to down load for the time being, until you get a compatible reader.
