But they used to have 7.5% up to about 2012 and Sony (3rd place in 2013 with 7.1%) have almost dropped out of DSLR's and moved to mirrorless.

The point is that it's now surging ahead again, which has to be a good thing?
Best regards, John

Its encouraging for sure. I believe the Ricoh Corporate results are out also and show the camera business increasing its presence within the overall wider operation, taking a larger slice of the overall profits. That will bode well internally, and hopefully translate to more ongoing Pentax investment.

But at that time Ricoh was putting its efforts into the medium format range, sales of which won't appear in DSLR comparative sales.

The K-1 (No: 22) and K-70 (No: 40) are selling well in Japan at present. If they keep that up I'm sure they will climb up the ladder by quite a few rungs

Includes mirrorless and seems to be just online sales.
The Ratings at 4.80 and 4.96 are right at the top
Bear in mind that there has been a big drop in overall sales of all over the last few years.

I see Pentax are doing well with their DSLR market share up from 4.5% in 2015 to 6.7% in 2016. They have increased sales by 50%. The figures apply to Japan - it would be interesting to see how they were faring in other markets as well.
