IMO you don't need the corrugated iron on the left. I'm not sure you need the grass. The cloud doesn't interact well with the steel. I can see what attracted you to this shot.

The more I look at this, the more I like it. And I think the image needs all elements. The piece of corrugated iron gives a clue as to the original purpose of the construction. Well spotted.

I cant decide
I see two elements to the image, the landscape and the rusty framework, unfortunately I dont think the two work together, it is the sort of shot I'd have stopped to take myself but it would probably have sat on my computer doing nothing for the rest of its life, too interesting to delete yet not good enough to do anything with, I'm sure others will disagree and tell you what a wonderfull location it is

I took several shots of this old barn frame, it was just one of those stark, contrasting, structures.

I've tried various landscape and portrait crops to try and get the landscape framed by the ironwork but it did not seem to work. I think fatspider may be right, two separate elements.

Red rust, blues, yellow and green. Ribbons of iron flying against the pretty clouds. Juxtaposition of rural idyll and the reality of industrialised farming.

This framework was right alongside a barbed wire fence (attached) and I did not want to go into the field.
It's worth a trip back as it's close to home, when the weather breaks!

What an evocative and striking shot...............vibrant colours and the rusty red of decay supplicating to the skies - cracking shot with all the mystery of how the barn ended up in that state.

That's very considerate of you. I'd have hopped over without a second thought! The second shot has potential for some great crops too. You can see how the iron has started to sag. I do like the first shot, on second viewing. I agree with Mike about cropping the grass out.
