Does an adaptor like this exist?

Instead of sticking an old 49mm filter on the extension tube a step ring that allows a 49mm filter to be used on say a 58mm lens could be used. This gives quite a large area for the glue. The 49mm thread usually passes straight though so it can be used either way round. Two stuck together will clear the K bayonet, so no modification needed.

Hard to find, but a set of Ricoh K tubes, had one thin tube only 9.5mm thick and they didn't have the aperture lever.

I often use one on a Pentax A* 300mm lens for closer focusing.

Finding one could be difficult...

Would you believe I'm actually holding one as I type this? I got it in a job lot of flash gear, with a ringflash. Maybe I should stick it on ebay...

The only reference I found to it at the time was an old listing on an Aus website.

Dan

When I was looking for this item - the only reference I found was on an Aussie site that sold telescopes etc. They ordered me one - but were never able to deliver. In the end I built my own. Also built one for Vic (Born again Biker)

Retired at last - now all that time for photography - you would think: wink:
