Do you still use a DA50-200?

No longer own one but it was a great little lens and quite underestimated.

I bought the WR version earlier this year to have a smaller long zoom than my 55-300 but I wasn't very impressed with it. I found I usually had to stop down to f/11 to get anything decently sharp. I did get some nice photos with it when on holiday in the US in the summer, despite the lack of resolution.

Perhaps you just have a bad copy.

I have to say I have one. But I no longer use it. As I never really got on with it. The results were always so poor.

These photos look very nice, nice colours in particular. But I agree with some above: I had one, the regular version, and never really liked it much. Later I got the 55-300mm which is so much better in every way, except maybe size.

Mine must be a good copy with the Samsung badge.

In sunny conditions it 'really sings' and I am only discouraged from using it if I think the extra reach of the 55-300 is going to come in useful.

Mine (Pentax version) is a cracker!
Maybe I'm lucky but it's better than the DA 55-300mm I have (which itself very good!)
By the way........the DA 55-300 wipes the floor with the Canon 75-300 I have

I never had any complaints with mine, but once I got the 55-300 I've never felt the need of it again.
My 55-300 is at least as sharp as my 50-200, and I find the extra reach very useful. Both DA50-200 & F100-300 came out of my bag and were replaced by the 55-300 (MUCH lighter). I think the old lenses have only been used once since when my kids borrowed them with my old K100d.

I use mine when travelling when I can't be bothered to lug around the much bigger and heavier DA55-300.
