My thoughts
Both nice shots, I agree with you. The lighting is always going to make No. 2 the best for me.
In No.1 the flowers at the bottom of the frame are too dominant, I'd play with cropping most of them off.

Thanks Nigel, I quite like the flowers but I take your point, I'll give them a crop at some point.
