Discussion for Weekly #228 "Human Sporting Emotion"

Small number of entries so far

Is it just a bad/vague theme?
or
Does the theme expose pentax limitations in and around sports photography?
or
something else?

In my case it just exposes a lack of interest in sport and the fact that I have hardly ever shot a sports picture.

I will have to look very long and hard to see if I can find anything, but look I shall.

Now don't be thinking I'm huffing or trying to coerce.

OK... I do have a couple of ideas, but nothing in my portfolio, as of 2 weeks ago we have 90cm of snow on the ground efectively stopping many sports . My entry may be a streatch, but it will be there

Sledding? Skiing? Olympic falling over in 90cm of snow?

I've had a look at what I have and the only sports photos I have are some slightly out of focus ones of Bradley Wiggins, so I shan't be entering I'm afraid. Not that I ever enter the comps anyway .

Well I did find a shot eventually when I remembered a martial arts session with Liz, a friend's daughter. She is now a black belt.

Well one of reasons there may be a low number of entries is it's so damn difficult to find where to actually submit an entry in the first place ! Go to the Home Page and check in the most logical place ... under Competitions - no not there, logic not working.

I even used the Search function ... no it doesn't appear under Weekly Competition or under #228.

Today was the first time, after 3 or 4 attempts over the past 6 months that I found a comment, by accident, linking to the dropdown in the Gallery - how obvious is that , not !

So I made an entry but does it show up ? No. In fact there isn't even an 'image' button ! So I left a link.

To enter a Gallery competition, and there is a post that explains it from ages ago, go to Gallery>Competitions.

Select the competition you want, there is just #228 running, and then click "Enter competition" - just upload an image from your computer. A link won't do it, so I'll see what's been dione and you'll be able to make a proper entry as outlined.

If you have any problem still, PM me and I'll go into more detail.
