Discussion for Monthly Comp #3....Opposites!

Incidentally there is another Pentax Forum that runs a monthly competition with the same title this month... It's a small world.
It's not open, yet, but if you think of submitting here you could submit there as well. Could be additional motivation...
JudithAnn, I don't want to hijack your competition, just creating more motivation (or so I hope).
Theme is solid but looking at my photographic output last month I'm not sure that I can come up with something by the end of the month.

I do not understand Prieri????? You cannot take two photos in the next 3 1/2 week to show some that is opposite. Why would it matter what your output was last month? It is a NEW month now!

Just had a look at the link...Yup, someone really did asked for the same thing indeed!
Oh well so much for a "big head" thinking I was so cool to come up with something sooo different!!
But Hey, you can do your in a true diptych here and split it up into two images for the 'other comp'.
I must check and see where (geographically) that other forum was?

They are in Asia somewhere, Malaysia IIRC.
You are right, it's a new month now. Yes, it's easy enough to shoot two "opposites". However, if I take part in a competition like that I would want to come up with something I'm reasonably satisfied with. So the problem is to pass my own quality control. And almost 4 weeks might be a bit too tight for that considering all the other commitments (photographic and otherwise).
I will try to keep your theme in mind, though.

Yes two images.....is it not clear in the description? Should I rewrite it?
I thought I explained it must be two images...can be a true diptych...two images in one frame or simply two seperate images.

Kind of hard to work a three image set around a theme of 'Opposites' though, eh? I think it's a good theme and should attract a good deal more entries than, ahem, last time! (Especially with one image allowed from the archives).
I say why get hung up on the diptych vs triptych thing, let's open the comp up a little bit.

I fancy a comp that requires a diptych or triptych set of images that complement each other. Due to this maybe a monthly comp ?
Any thoughts ?

I did not mean to change your "Monthly Competition", but I did feel that the monthly comp has not done so well. I do feel it might be interesting to see if we could attract a larger group....however out of respect for your rules in your monthly comp, I am willing to relinquish
the topic to you.
Let me know what you desire.

I've already shot 6 images for this competition so I'd like to do a diptych triptych. Is this allowed?

It would probably cause less confusion to call it the monthly Triptych competition.

Previous quote from a learned forum member on the monthly competition:
"A triptych should just be one upload, not three. All three images should be on the same canvas, otherwise it's not a triptych."
I'm happy with the term three images. I think I know what it means. It means three images. Things can be overthunk.

True, true....but something to indicate three would be good. Anyway, for now two is the new three!

I think this Comp will be fun to do....lets get entries in nice and early. and invite 'others' from the forum, who you know, to have a go at this one!
I would love too see their ideas on the topic.
