Why should Pentax discountinue this lenses? The answer is simple…new lenses are coming! There is also someone who believes the new lenses will work on Pentax Fullframe cameras…

this is the quote from the website not mine,

Or to give them all some sort of basic weatherproofing?

They are NOT discontinued!

The link you gave doesn't list any of the above lenses at all, it lists only FAJ, FA, F and older manual A, M & K lenses as well as 645 and 67 lenses.

Under the heading of DA there are no lenses listed.

It would appear that k-rumours are just rumouring (again!).

There is no doubt that some new lenses will appear in the future, that's a given, but no-one outside of Hoya/Pentax knows anything about FF digital lenses, but as we already know, several of the existing lenses will cover a 35mm FF film circle, but their performance on a FF digital sensor is unknown.
Best regards

Unless I'm missing something, there are no lenses listed under the DA section of the source web site. Beat me to it Richard

DA 50-200mm F4.0-5.6 ED is discontinued and the DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL also very likely since we have a lot of other version of them.

I doubt the accuracy of that list anyway, according to it the Pentax Auto 110 Super was introduced 2 years after the last lens for it was discontinued.

that doesn't seem likely to me.

Edit, I just re-read the list and actually it doesn't give lens discontinued dates at all, they are all date introduced.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

I find that the older FA lenses (all discontinued) still give me the best results on my K10D's smaller sensor. I am still raving about my FA 28-200 3.8-5.6. WHAT A LENS!! Lets hope all roads lead to a full frame PENTAX to be launched soon
2x K10D bodies, 2x FA 28-200 3.8-5.6, DA 18-55, A 50 F2, 50mm Macro, 360 FGZ. Still saving for the 60-250 DA* Also have a Z10 35mm and a K1000 just for fun. IF PENTAX IS THE ANSWER, WHO CARES WHAT THE QUESTION IS...!

Not all are discontinued
the three limiteds (31mm, 43mm and 77mm) are still being produced, as, I believe, the 50mm F1.4, but this is still to be confirmed (one place said it was stopped being made in 2004, yet another says still made albeit in smaller numbers)
the two macros, the 50 and 100, were called FA, but now DFA. They are for all intents and purposes the same lens but with very minor adjustments.

Its just a shame that the 35mm F2 is no longer being made, having stopped earlier this year (so I believe)
