Disable Flash

I have set the flash 'on' on my K20D. But cannot find anywhere instructions how to turn it 'off'.. any help, please?

What do you mean by "ON". Surely if the flash is retracted, it will not operate.

Just push the flash back down - the button on the side just releases a catch to let it spring up. When it's up the camera selects when to use it; when it's down it's off.

That only works in "green" mode. In all other modes, if it is up, it will fire.

Thanks, guys....so, as pentaxian450 says, if the camera is in a different more from 'green' and I don't want to use the flash, I should make sure that it is retracted (shut).

Karlh, it's only January 1st, not April. It doesn't matter what mode the camera is set to if the flash is retracted, it will not fire.

Put very simply, if you don't want to use the onboard flash, make sure it's down.
