Can anyone recommend a digital projector for home use, primarily for viewing photographs

Excellent image quality and a realistic price are the key criteria

It's always a problem when you have conflicting criteria.

Modern TVs seem to be capable of anything. Might be worth seeing if you can stream pictures from PC to TV.

I have recently invested in a 1.6m x 1.6m wall mounted projection screen so that I can see all my old 35mm slides again, so I thought that it would be nice to see some of my digital photograhs at the same large size

I have recently purchased Apple TV in order to see my images on TV. This small device works wirelessly and needs an HDMI cable (a good one)High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)capable, available from Argos! I initially used a standard cable that I had spare and kept getting errors. Went on the forums and found that the new HDMI 1.4 HDCP cable is the one to get. Worked right out of the box and I am now able to view the images stored on my PC HDD with no problems since.

David

Retired at last - now all that time for photography - you would think: wink:

I have now projected some of my photographs and they look really good 1.6m wide

Unfortunately my 35mm slides now look less than perfect

Despite theoretically slides outresolving digital images, the digitally projected pictures tend to look brighter and sharper....

In photo societies slides have all but died out.
