I was looking for one of those hard plastic type also but could only find one for The ist*D.
I wanted it more for its shading abilites, as you know its difficult to see the screen when in bright sunlight.

I ordered a cheap soft one yesterday. Will report back when I get it. It was from the same eBay dealer that supplied me with a very clear and easy to apply protector for my mobile phone; helpfully comes with a microfibre cloth.

I have sent Delkin an email requesting info for K10D, see what happens, quite like the idea of that one as wd be a great help in sunny conditions.

But, I am sure I have seen other photographers with DSLRs that have a rigid plastic protector attached to their screens, but can't seem to locate them at all.

I've just purchased the Giottos screen protectors from Warehouse Express.

Using the Warehouse Express Product code numbers the PJP67 fits a K10D and the PZD78 fits a K20D.

I've only had them since last Thursday so cannot give any long term comments; but impressions so far are :

They were easy to fit. The sticky part is only under the black rim of the protector which sticks to the black edging of the LCD screen on the camera so no glue on the screen or clipping of the viewed area. The instructions do not say so but it is common sense to throughly clean the LCD before fitting so that theres no trapped dirt or grease on the LCD to prevent a good bond.

Their claimed 98% transparency seems to be true as I notice no differnce in LCD brightness.

In use they are so thin that I didn't know they were there and were easy to keep clean (finger prints etc); a microfibre cleaning cloth is provided with the screen.

As they are of toughened glass they should provide good scratch resistance and at 17.99 each seem to be a good buy.

Bob
Good luck

I bought the ExpertShield screen protectors for my K10D they cost 3.34 direct from the manufacturer in the US.

You also get one for the small LCD display next to the shutter release.

They are totally invisible when fitted and are as clear and shiny as the actual glass on the screens themselves.

Might not be what you're looking for Lilly, but they are an excellent product.

Thanks guys for all the info., I have still not got a reply from Delkin with their pop up shade protector all in one. Like Clarky, I was more inclined to go for, but seeing as they have not had the courtesy to reply, re K10D, I think I will be going for the Giottos that Bob has just got.
I am not real happy to have sticky things on my LCD, so looks like it will be a Giottos, best compromise I think.
Merci beaucoup

I always think the pop-up ones would be a pain, as if you wanted to check the histogram quickly, you'd have to pop the shade up, have a look, then put it back down again before the next shot. I suppose it would put an end to constantly glancing at the LCD, but for the times you want to refer to it briefly, it would just get in the way IMHO.

Actually, the shade portion is removable, at least for the "mini" version, which is what the K10D user has to use since there isn't a custom model available for it. See the following for details (2.5 inch model does come in black, as well as the illustrated silver...)

I've been thinking about getting one of these as well...

Eventually, I have a reply from Delkin:

I am sorry to say that the shade will not fit due to a slight
difference in configuration. I apologize for any inconvenience.
