Difference between Pentax DA and DA-L 50-200mm?

I just noticed at the SRS web page they have DA and DA-L 50-200mm Pentax lenses. What is the difference between them (apart from the price)?

I think the L lens has a plastic mount instead of metal to save on weight.
Made for the Km body although it will mount onto other Pentax bodies.

These are all the "bad points" of the DA-L compared to the DA;
- Plastic mount
- No hood (need to buy speratly)
- No quick-shift
all done to save money and weight, not really worth it in my eyes though so get the DA if you can

Well, I still have the DA 50-200mm on the bargain 30 quid Jessops order (which I doubt I will get now). I'll hold on for a week or so - but I started looking around - if I won't get the Jessops' one, I'd prefer to buy in January to benefit the Pentax cashback offer. I consider either the DA 50-200mm or a DA 55-300mm (which is more expensive, but longer telephoto). My budget shrinks really quickly this month

L stands for Light.

I could live with the plastic mount and lack of QS, and would enjoy the weight saving, but it's ridiculous for a hood not to be included with a lens these days.
