I have to say it's rare I see anyone else with a Pentax cam while out shooting

I was in Sutton Hoo a couple of weeks ago and noticed a few Pentax DSLR users. Was somewhat surprised.

In my experience there seem to be more Pentaxes about than previously. There were quite a few at Whitby when we went to the Goths, that's in addition to the usual gang who go from PU.
When I go to photograph a steam train on a main line charter train there are always dozens of other photographers, and invariably there some other Pentaxes.

I've yet to find anyone on my travels who even admits to owning (or ever owning) a Pentax - of any age.
I don't care - I wouldn't be without mine.
regards,
Bernard

I was in Rome in April- 1000s of Canikons, only spotted 2 Pentax- one of them clocked my strap and we exchanged grins and a nod- It is like owning a rare car or bike

I only know one other Pentax owner outside this forum (who managed to find an MX and 50/1.7 in a Dutch junk shop for under €10 - I've told them in no uncertain terms that it's worth spending more than they paid for the camera on a proper service!)
I quite enjoy the reactions you get while poking around with an old Pentax. My black ME and ME Super are still seriously elegant cameras, the MES with 40mm f2.8 will almost fit in a pocket and I recently managed to find an "Otterbox" of just the right dimensions for it.

There were a couple of others on my Hurtigruten trip, which was good to see.
And funnily enough there were a lot in Pollock Park Glasgow in April . Though there were one or two non Pentaxes there too .

Well let's hope the K-5 kick starts a larger user base.

In our group, which must have looked like a Pentax User meeting, there were two K-5, one K-x, one K10D and one K20D plus our lenses and backup compacts, which totalled an amazing four I-10s and a W90....
A formidable array!
