DIAT Monopod

Dear All,

Been looking at a carbon fiber monopod.

Don't feel like spending loads. But has anyone ever come across DIAT?

OK I understand it's a China import but at the end of the day making a monopod is not rocket science, the ball head could be a different matter.

I have not come across this brand but the monopod looks to be a decent design with Gitzo style twist locks. As you say, not as much to go wrong with a monopod compared to a tripod. I find a ballhead on a monopod a bit awkward to use though - you may be better off with a simple Manfrotto 234RC monopod head http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manfrotto-234RC-Monopod-Tilt-Head-with-Quick-Release-P... (or you can get Chinese copies of these for about half the price)
