HDR used. I should really buy myself a grad ND, but this works just as well most of the time..
Very nice, great balance of light, what method of HDR do you use as it quite appeals to me being so subtle?Taken in dubai.

I use photomatix lilly, and just adjust it to my tastes, then sometimes i boost it slightly with highlight/shadows tool in photoshop. Its just a playaround till you get the results I find, and depends on the photo you start with.

I don't know anything about HDR but I am just curious to know what the single, standard exposure image looks like for comparison.

Rob, I have checked it out and will try the free trial version first, do you know how long the free one lasts for?I use photomatix lilly, and just adjust it to my tastes, then sometimes i boost it slightly with highlight/shadows tool in photoshop. For those interested I found this which helps if you are a CS user like me:

I am not sure Lilly. A friend sent me a link, and lets say i "acquired" the full version.
Hyram, ive produced a present for you:
straight from camera, colour corrected in photoshop, detail enhancing using dodge/burn tools from colour corrected, and the HDR version.

Infact,
I like the sky of 2 and 3 more than 4, its more natural.

Okay, final edit

I must advise you though
Personally I think alot of outcomes of HDR look very tacky, and obviously PP'd
Try to keep that from creeping into your photos
Theyre so much nicer natural

Many thanks for doing that.
I now see the effect that can be achieved.
I guess one of the tricks is knowing when to stop tweaking
