I wouldn't say favour, but I often use tele or normal fov for landscapes. When I started out I couldn't get it wide enough, but on a trip to Africa I forgot to bring anything wider than my 85mm portrait lens (on 35mm) and came back with lots of wonderful images. I find that I often prefer just seeing part of the scene.
How do you like Noton's book - I remember looking at them (on the Internet) but then decided I have lots of books already and they usually leave me dissapointed?

The FA77 is probably my favourite landscape lens, although they all get used depending on the situation. My DA12-24 is probably my least used for landscapes (but the most used indoors).

I wouldn't say I favour one, but I would say always taking landscapes in wide angle every time is a tad boring. I love the compressed perspective of a telephoto for landscape stuffJust been reading one of his books and was amazed at how often he uses the 70-200 lens for his landscapes.I have used a telephoto on occasions with some success, but he seems to use it very often.
