The date is in the EXIF data with post procession programs you can have the print on it, at least with most I believe.
Problem is though that it's simple to get another date on it so don't know how it hold up in court.

On the *ist D, the date can be imprinted when using the DPOF system to print. See page 107 of the user manual. I don't think it can be superimposed on the JPEG in camera, though you could do this afterwards with a software program on your computer.
I don't know about the W43.
A date on a photo doesn't prove anything anyway because the camera's date can be reset to anything any time.

Thank you, Gentlemen.
Strange that you can't do that in camera, considering all the other amazing things that can be done with digital. I seem to remember that there were even some film cameras that could record the date/time on the negative.
I will advise her that having the date/time on the picture probably won't cut much mustard with the council.

Why not take a picture of the sign including the front page of a national daily newspaper? Then a close up of sufficient of the paper to show the date and enough of the rest to show that its the same paper.
That at least will show the earliest date that the picture could be taken on.
Ok that can be faked too but a lot more difficult...

How do I do that? - I have never used this feature before and can't seem to find it in the menu. I will be using either an istD, or an Optio W43.
Instruction will be much appreciated.
Compliments of the season to all my fellow forum users.
