Some from tonight. I took a few with different lenses and different settings as the sunset progressed. Yet another occasion when I wished I had my tripod with me! Edited in Lightroom 1.4. C&C as always, thanks. Kris.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

What happened to the steeple on number 2 Kris?

Not sure. Possibly something to do with 1/8 sec at 300mm: I could clone the shadow out I guess: I have a few attempts at that one, I'll see if they are all like that.

It's camera shake, by the look of it. It's all the way along.

Almost certainly. I have enough problems hand-holding 300mm at sensible shutter speeds. I'll check out some of the other attempts. I was resting the camera on my back pack on the back of the motorbike so one might be sharper.

I didn't realise they were hand held. I don't even think about hand held at 200 say at less than 125th. That said the SR does an amazing job in some situations.

At 300mm I'd usually aim for a minimum of 1/300th but as always it was a trade off between hoping and the noise at higher ISOs. The K10D is a lovely camera but pretty horrible noise at 800 or 1600. What I really need is a bracket that bolts to my motorcycle handbars....

It looks like the shadow of the steeple being projected onto that cloud bank by Womble's flash

PS I like the rays of light effect in number 1!

Lovely sky in 4, and I like the framing. Not surprised this is taken with the 12-24. I've always found it to be a really good performer in low light.
