Hello, I have a recently purchased K100d. The LCD panel that displays the review of the picture taken shows the picture as being very dark. I have set the settting to "auto pic" - which I would expect to take a decent picture - but its still dark. So is there asetting somewhere to alter the brightness of this.

thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Before anybody can offer you advice we could really do with seeing one of these "dark" pictures. Any chance you could post an example?

Without seeing the problem there are just too many variables to even begin listing possible causes.

I'm sure there are no problems that can't be overcome.

Do you know how to read the histogram? If it looks good, and only the camera's lcd looks dark, you can adjust the lcd brightness in the menus where the tool icons are.

I deliberately turn the brightness down on my d-slrs.....
because in bright light outdoors they are hard to see anyways, and in the dark, they make the image look lighter than it really is, so I figure I only use it to read the INFO and histogram, might as well save battery power and turn down the brightness. (it is set to look similar to my computer monitor in my studio)
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.
