Damsels & Dragons

I caught a couple of fleeting glimpses of Dragonflies Sunday while out at Rixton, Monday afternoon I ventured out to Risley Moss for a couple of hours, it's one of my favourite spots when time is a bit limited. Taking the Tamron Di 90/2.8 with me to see what I could get and these are some of the results C&C welcome.

Butterfly, just for good measure, Cabbage White?

Looks like the Damsels & Dragons came early this year.

Good to see these John, nicely captured. I have seen a ton of butterflies this year already it seems (although only managed to get a single pic) and spotted a single damsel fly last week. Early I think, as you say. Hopefully the weather will last!

Hi Mat, thanks for the comment, plenty of butterflies and bees around here for a week of so, last year the first 4 Spotted Chaser I saw was on the 23rd of May, so probably 2 weeks early or there abouts this year. The weather's been glorious but apparently we're getting rain tomorrow and Friday in the NW.

John

Stunning set, John: all sharp and well exposed but, if one had to chose a winner, it would have to be numero uno due to the superb framing/cropping.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the comments, I was actually tilting the camera as I took them trying to get a better composition on the Damselflies but resisted the temptation with the 4 Spotted Chaser as they do tend to be easily spooked.
