Know how you feel, walking towards airstrip in Newquay airport, two RAF Typhoons do a friendly fly over and I'm with the KP and a 50mm lens.

Serves you right for not having with you your complete photographic kit plus added telescope (just in case a comet should unexpectedly appear). Do you not realise that a photographer is not worthy of the name unless they are weighed down by a mountain of kit 'just in case'???
Having said that, I once missed a shot of a spectacular eye-level fly past by a short eared owl because the owl could fly faster than I could change from wide angle lens to telephoto .

Yup, had a 35mm equivalent to photograph a Hoopoe that’s been kicking around nearby…
Makes for a nice “spot the Hoopoe” picture though!

😄 haha, yup, but we were already breaking the weight limit of the Cesna and camera size is an issue in these small light aircraft lol. Well that's my excuse anyways
