DA*s - Internal Dust

Having a quiet morning in the shop, so thought I would get the kit out and give it a bit of a clean. Whilst blowing the dust off of the front element of the DA* 60-250 I noticed a lot of the dust wasn't moving then realised a lot of it was inside! A closer look has revealed well over 10 specks of dust on the inside from a lens bought in April!

Checked the others and found :-

DA* 16-50 - One large speck of dust, one 2-3mm hair
DA* 50-135 - One tiny speck of dust
DA* 60-250 - LOADS of tiny specks of dust (10-20?)
DA* 300mm - One large speck of dust

Now I do acknowledge the difference between dust proof and dust resistant, and I'm sure that the issue is not affecting the pictures, but especially in the case of the DA* 60-250 I'm a tad worried. The question I suppose is how concerned should I be?

Anyone else having dust problems with their DA*s?

My DA* 50-135mm was fine until it was serviced. When it came back I thought I saw a hair, but that seems to have gone now so it may have been outside, or has fallen into the works! Other than that, it seems fine. The odd bit of dust won't hurt.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

My brand new DA*300 had a fair few flecks of dust, as I recall.

They must have been present from manufacture, which is fairly disappointing

If it's any consolation then flecks of dust won't show up in any pictures or have any adverse effect on image quality come to that.

I realise that, which is why I didn't take it back

I've never noticed this issue with my "Made in Japan" lenses though...

How do you know where your DA* lenses are made, my 50-135 doesn't say on the lens body, just a CE mark???

All the lenses I have are marked somewhere with the country of manufacture, or assembly, as the case may be.
Best regards, John
