DA*60-250 sample pics

Hi all,

I am a new poster, but a long time member of this forum. I actually joined in October 2004, but never posted here as I was an active contributor to DPR and Pentax Forums, but DPR is becoming a little less friendly, so here I am. I was asked to post here by another forum member and thought that it would be good to contribute as it looks a good forum.

I have just obtained a DA*50-250 f4 and a DA*55 f1.4 recently. Here are some samples taken with the DA*60-250. I wish I had taken a few wide open, as this is an all important aspect of this lens seeings that it has forgone the f2.8 max aperture and therefore many will want to be able to shoot at f4. I hope to try this out soon.

Number 2 of the gulls does it for me - gorgeous Sonnar-like bokeh and great detail in the whites of the central bird's plumage. I'm starting to really like what I see from this lens.

Nice shots, Lance, I can feel the LBA creeping up in me...
The bokeh seems nice enough and I bet the AF is sweet as well.

Only question: Is it good for bird shots only?

Thanks for posting,
Prieni

Thanks for the nice comment, Hefti. The DA*60-250 *can* exhibit some good bokeh at times and as you say, the lens can do great things. A real winner from Pentax.

Thank you, Prienni.

I have it under good authority that it can take photos of other types of bird life, too.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Nice pictures Lance. I think I saw some of them at the "other" forum. My favourite is the gulls.

Glad to see you posting here, it is on the whole a very friendly forum, with more emphasis on photographs than most!

Saw these elsewhere as well, great shots, and I'm sure it shoots parrots as well!

It is a seriously good lens, good enough for me to not even think about the 50-135 anymore, it's that good. Gave the 50-135 to Fiona to put in her bag now as it's just not needed!

Good to see you here Lance, hope to see more of what you can do with it!

Danny.
