I've not seen a test yet but, I can't imagine that it's going to be a dud. Probably the opposite.
For the price, it won’t break the bank. It should make an ideal “std” lens for walk about.
Are you considering?
Best regards

Mine arrived yesterday, its incredibly light - I thought for a moment SRS had sent me an empty box. Focuses quickly and an initial dozen shots show beautiful colour rendition, no signs of chromatic abberation and I was pushing it hard.
Possibly softer at f2.4 than stopped down but it is too early to tell. I'll put it through its paces today and report back.

the DA-L 35 is another story though but some have posted some photos taken with that lens on the USA forum.
There is a link to that on this forum somewhere.

But aside from being pedantic, you're mistaken. There is actually no such thing as a DA-L 35mm, it's just what people have taken to calling the new DA 35mm f2.4, since it has a plastic mount.

Will if you look at other Pentax sites it's called DA and not DA-l, they don't know it either how to call it I think
I had an idea what lens but I wasn't sure and I'm still not to be honest.
Most are assuming it's about the DA 35 f/2.4 but it can just as easily be about the DA 35 limited.
He hasn't said "new" lens or something like that so what are the indication it's about the DA35 f/2.4?

It's not very good, Pentax not having clear names for their 35mm's
although that has always been the case with all manufactures regarding
long lenses the aperture has to be quoted along with the focal length
i.e. 300mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4.0 So it seems to be the fault of the
posters for not quoting apertures

The lens in question was clearly defined by the first three posts. Ken even mentions quite clearly f2.4
Best regards, John

Nowhere on the lens, the box or accompanying paperwork is the lens referred to as 'DA L' although given its features perhaps it should have been.
Stefan's link to the Pentax USA page clearly contains a typo in the headline because there is no 'L' in the body text.

That Gary and Ken assume Donovan is asking about the f/2.4 is something very differnt. The lens in question was clearly defined by the first three posts. Ken even mentions quite clearly f2.4
The only indication that Donovan gave about the lens is DA35 so only Donovan can know for sure if he's talking about the DA35 f/2.4 or the DA35 macro limited.
