Its a pity Pentax do not offer this as a kit lens with the dslrs. It would be a great way of introducing people to the magical world of primes with the extra flexability DOF wise. I am curious about this lens, I have nothing wider than 43mm at the moment, well excluding the 16-45, but that is boxed away waiting for a new home

Robbie I believe they are offering the DA 35mm f/2.4 with the Kr in Japan at least as a kit, don't know if it will also come to the EU that way.

Yeah, I asked SRS if they would do me a deal with the K-5 and the DA35 f2.4, unfortunately no was the answer. I'm popping over next month for my birthday, maybe face to face I can haggle a bit better
It looks like a nice little offering for the money.

Cause my Mrs to be would take body parts if I handed over a couple of ŁK to the nice people at SRS, especially as we are popping over to visit on the 9th Dec and she'll be there beside me.
I think she wants to get the 35Ltd for me (herself really), she likes the idea of macro
I just want to have a play with the f2.4 and then give it as a Christmas present to my Father in law to be, he has a K20D so it'll be a nice fit. Its a bit slow for me now that I've got a 50 f1.2, picked that up a few weeks ago... so I have to calm down a bit on the lba, cba, etc, etc

We have all learnt something today!

But I'm sure Stefan's not one to gloat, or insist that rashly offered wagers are honoured ;P

Probably the best write up I've seen of the DA35 Limited.

Careful opening the link, it may cause severe lba

Pentax have always made super lenses and I'd be especially confident in buying any of their macro lenses.
Best regards, John
