D-BG4 Problem

Hi

I noticed at the weekend that my grip on the K5 was not working but put it down to a dead battery.

Unfortunately I have discovered that the problem is that one of the spring loaded contact pins on the top of the grip is jammed in flush with the plastic surrounding it and will not release.

Has anybody else come up against this problem? If so did you manage to get the pin back out and how?

Have you tried a little spary of WD40 type contact cleaner and/or giving it a wiggle with a pin? Just a thought not from experiance mate.

Tried contact cleaner - no use - tried a pin - no use.

Spent ages trying to waggle a fine needle down next to the pin and other fine implements - no joy. Got frustrated and gave it a sharp tap on the edge of my desk and the little bugger popped up immediately.

Seem to recall that my father used to employ similar tactics with the TV when it was playing up - good to see the old methods still work
