Cyclone "Gula"

This Category Three cyclone passed close by on January 31st. 2008, while we were in Mauritius. The reef, protecting our lagoon, is about 500 metres off-shore and the waves at the reef usually 60cms to 1 metre high. These, however, were between 4 and 5 metres high.

No trouble or damage to us or our belongings, but a fairly tense 24 hours.
