Taken with 2 different lenses, both touched up with photoshop (colour, sharpness etc).

One taken with a up to date Tamron 28-135mm fully automatic lens and the other with a old screw mount fully manual Vivitar 90mm F2/8 Macro lens.

Which do you prefer?

My guess would be either grasshopper or locust.

When very warm weather is on its way, the locust will emit a high whining buzz from the tree tops.

The grasshopper just fiddles around all summer.

I like the bokeh in #2

Yup. Not a cricket (they generally have long antennae). I prefer the focus on the first one. However, the composition of the second is great, although the eyes could have done with being in focus. An interesting angle of view

I agree with Chirpy, the first one's in better focus, but the background's a bit distracting. The second one works better for me as a composition, but the focus should, for me, be on the head.

Agree with the others. I like the crisp colors of #1.

Me too: the composition and color on # 2, but the face OOF.
