Corel editing software

I get the general gist that Adobe cs is the premium editing software!
However, I've used Paint Shop Pro vs7 for many a year & run trial versions of PSP x4 and Adobe CS5 and found the X4 to suit my needs and pocket better than CS. Now I've found Corel Aftershot! I know this is a revamped version of Bibble which I have no experience of. My question is what are the prnciple differences between these programs and do they compliment or compete with each other?

Corel Aftershot, aka Bibble, is a fantastic RAW converter, very fast, very capable. No reason you couldn't run it alongside say Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

I have never used Coral software myself. I was given a copy of Photoshop Elements when I started with digital, and have more or less stuck to it since. It does most of what I need for a very good price.

I have used Bibble as a trial version and considered buying it, but was put off by the Corel takeover tbh.

Bibble is, or was, a RAW converter.

Good RAW converters allow you to do quite a bit of tweaking to an image without getting into the area of image manipulation, which is what Photoshop (the still image heart of CS) will enable you to do.

I find that Silkypix (also a RAW converter) does all I need, but I don't try to transform my photos into something else.
