Continuous Shooting, Exposure Bracketing, Interval Shooting etc in B Mode!

Hi all,

What do you think if K5 series and K3 can set to Exposure Bracketing, Multi-exposure,
Interval Shooting, or Interval Composite in Bulb mode?

Reason to allow all these functions in Bulb mode is to make Long Exposure bracketing ( more than 1 minute), timelapse and nightscape photography easier.

Hope Pentax Ricoh can consider to allow those great functions in Bulb Mode.

Bulb mode is essentially manual control of exposure time (usually to gain exposures past 30 seconds). How would you envisage this would work for exposure bracketing? Assuming it's you controlling the remote release, then you could do the bracketing (holding the shutter open for varying periods) yourself.
Perhaps you could rephrase this to can they allow you to set exposures longer than the usual cut off of 30 seconds. This would allow you double exposures of long exposure shots etc. Though for that I'd take two normal photos and do the blending in photoshop, as it's too risky to let this be done in camera if it's critical work.

I think there are work arounds for most of what you're asking for, but there most could be helped by extending the traditional max 30 seconds limit. This is standard across many brands, but that doesn't mean it needs to be fixed though

I can't see the point of an exposure bracketing feature in bulb mode. You're already on a tripod so say for example you take a really long exposure for a night scene and then want to take a very short exposure to allow the blending in of any brightly lit areas ( Shop windows, or illuminated signs for example ) then it's so easy to do this manually.


Multi exposure already works in bulb mode.

As for interval shooting for exposures longer than 30 seconds, I guess it's possible using a remote interval timer
