I'm organizing a workshop in March/April and went out for a few evening shots of the conference centre.
As I don't have to submit anything for the competition this week I thought I might post these...

A very impressive set.

I particularly like the DA 10-17 fisheye shot.

Is architectural photography a specific interest ? Most architects would pay very well for pictures like these of their buildings.

I agree with Hyram, very impressive indeed. I like #2 the best but i am a sucker for a good sunset.
That sigma sure gives excellent results for a budget lens

Lovely photos. A really impressive collection. 4 &5 are my faves, with their very abstract look, and good colours.
AS Hyram said archtiects, and the owners of buildings would pay alot for photos like these.
Maybe you should show them to the people at the conference centre?

Thanks for your replies!

I will show them the shots (as I said, I'm organizing a workshop that will be held there). As it is a new venue but not that new (about 2 years) I guess they will have some shots already. But it can't do any harm...

It's interesting that the 10-17 gives some useful architecture shots. Not the kind of lens that springs to mind when you hear "architecture shots". I guess it's a matter of putting the odd shot in, not overdoing it.

I like these a lot, good to see more things the 10-17 fishy can do.

Note to self :- get off your backside more often John and get images like these - I wish !!!

Very good images - And very good use of the fishy!! I really like those.

Just a note. Last one- is it a bit off center or just me? Was that made on purpose?

Yes and no. Yes, I wanted it to be off center but slightly different. Difficult to look through the viewfinder, though, with the camera on the tripod and pointing upwards. Seems that there is a purpose for the existence of live view after all (not that I can think of many uses; guess when you get used to it you find more along the way).

And this shot being off centre does slightly irritate the viewer and (I hope) keeps the attention for just a bit longer.

Nice set indeed, I do love love that half light in the evening....the perfect time to do night shots. I like no2 best with part silhouettes, just makes you want to stroll down that prom and watch the sunset.

I'm with Clarky & Lilly, No 2 is definately the best of the bunch. But I'd have been happy with any of them.
