Compatible SD cards for S5i

Hi,

I bought a Kingston 512MB Elite Pro SD card but I got a "memory card error" message. The SD card is working fine in my laptop so I believe the problem is the lack of compatability between the camera and the fast speed SD card.

May I know which brand of SD cards (size, speed) are compatible with the S5i camera?

Please help me out!!!

This is definitely a potential problem with all memory cards. We got a CF adapter to use the SD cards with the Phototainer, and some SD cards will work and some won't...

Does anyone know a website where the info is available?

Ermm, no offence as I don't know your knowledge level with memory cards. Have you tried formatting the card once it's in your camera?

I only ask as I made a similar mistake a couple of years back trying to use an SD card in my camera which was previously used in a PalmOne. I got the 'memory card error' msg but after formatting evrything was fine and I still use the same card with no problems!

You're quite right to point out that memory cards should be formatted in the camera they are to be used in.

There can still be problems after that is done, and, for example, Fuji are keen to point out that not all CompactFlash cards will work in their cameras. Why this should be I have no idea, but if it can apply to Fuji cameras it may well apply to others as well.
