400%?

Back in the real world of normal photography there really isn't a problem, but if you seek it then you will certainly find it. I'll beg to differ from your conclusions Algi and just leave it at that.

Yawn yawn yawn. I hope a new camera is released soon just to end these endless, pointless discussions about K5II/s vs K5. These shots are clearly more than fit for purpose, equipment would make sodall difference.

Yawn, Yawn, Yawn from me too. I'm going to bed so I don't need to read any more pointless posts about moire and K-5iis from non-owners.

Well done Jon, the shots are really superb and your clients must be very pleased with them.

They are a great advert for your skill as a photographer as well as for Pentax / Sigma equipment.

David

-- It makes it even more of a pointless camera if no one other than K-5IIS owners can look at the pictures it produces.

Of.... if non K-5IIs owners can see K-5IIs pictures, do they see them differently from K-5IIs owners?

Actually given the hyperbole I think they probably do

Do you ever comment on the image quality of pictures taken on cameras you don't own David?

Thanks to all those who commented on the pics, it's been a very difficult and challenging job, with temperatures over 45 degrees, logistical problems, a fairly vague brief from the parent company in Germany, plus I have a full-time job. I'm very pleased with how it went. I've never done anything remotely on this scale before and I basically blagged my way into getting it. (Actually, my wife was largely responsible. Thanks, darling!).

I really don't give a damn whether a K5iis would have suffered moire or produced more detail....I used a K5 and I'm perfectly happy with the results.

More to the point, the client is happy (they asked me do some more interior shots yesterday, in addition to the contracted shots, and have asked me to shoot the whole lot again when the landscaping is completed in 6 months or so). They are particularly pleased with the night shots which were done at my suggestion. I doubt very much if they're at all interested in the relative benefits of K5 models. When the next model comes out I may spend some of my earnings on it, but I don't think I need a K5iis right now.

The two Sigma lenses also performed very well. I'd thoroughly recommend the 8-16mm, in spite of the negative comments I'd read in some quarters about distortion. I managed to correct it all manually in Lightroom without too much difficulty. It also produced blue skies when most of my other lenses tend to show the beige look of dust in the air.

I've never made any comment on the physical K-5IIs itself, why should I don't own one and haven't used one. My comments about have been about the images I've seen it produce.

You don't need to own the camera an image was taken with to comment on that image.
