I do quite a lot of acrylic frames witch I produce my self.

early this year I had a image cold laminated to the back of a 10mm acrylic sheet. The affect was quite stunning and I think I may start to do it my self but I don't know where to start the laminating machines are quite pricey, now at the moment I only want to go up to A3+ size with a 50mm boarder.

does anyone have experiences in doing this by hand

Hi Pink, well you could start looking at hotpress but unfortunately it isnt cheap, but if you do a lot of these then maybe its worth it, a friend of mine bought smaller machine 22 inch i think, and paid £600 but got £300 pounds worth of the laminates and a roll for for putting pics on acrylic, this laminate is very expensive. Or try get a second hand one they are simple machine just two rollers with a motor but very well built so second hand would be ok. Hope this helps.

well after much deliberation I have bought a jetmounter 26 and I am able to laminate my own images on to Acrylic and dibond boards.

why ??

Have you ever seen a image laminated to acrylic it look's amazing and is cheaper than sandwiching a print between two pieces of acrylic and mounting with a stand off leg.
