I've only had good experiences buying and selling here. This forum is a dangerous place for those of us afflicted by LBA & CBA...

I have bought twice through this forum, and have nothing but praise for the other parties in both transactions. (Thanks again guys)

One sale however was almost scuppered by the ridiculous charges which both my bank and the vendor's bank attempted to levy on our transaction, and me being a typical tight Jockanese type person hated being ripped-off. Where there's a will, however ... and I'm the proud and happy owner of a pre-owned Sigma 10-20mm zoom and Pentax battery grip.

A wee bit off-topic, but can I also put in a good word for SRS for new purchases. A superb and easy on-line shopping experience every time so far.

Generally transactions on the forum have been great; there's been one I wasn't 100% happy with, but I'll put that one down to experience!

I would add that I've also had the same experiences on ebay so far as well, bar one rogue seller in approximately 100 transactions.

All in all, it's a good way to do business!

I've only had one transaction on here and it was smooth as with nice friendly communication from a very nice chap

Like David my ebay experiences have been overwhelmingly good too - well over 100 transactions and around 3 maybe 4 that weren't spot on

I would like to pass on my thanks to the many sellers on this forum I have purchased items from. I have bought camera's, lenses and bags. Every single transaction arrived the very next day, in perfect order, well packaged and in my opinion better than described. Totally stress free, in my experience a better service than that from our suppliers..

I've only bought one lens here, so far and was totally satisfied with the transaction.

Have sold 2 lens to a forum member also. Haven't heard if he received lenses OK, but assume he was happy with them.

I think we can trust other forum members descriptions of items being sold more than on other sites, and that items have been taken care of.

I have bought and sold over the forum and all transactions have been clockwork and all goods perfectly as described.

I pulled out of one transaction where a new member wanted me to send a lens in advance of payment. But I think it is common sense to take such precautions.

I recall one transaction where a purchaser was stung badly. I know of another where a lens turned out to be obviously faulty and the seller refused to acknowlege the evidence and responsibility. Because of good old SRS there was a transferable warranty and it was repaired, but at the cost of shipment to the buyer.

By and large it seems to work very smooth indeed. As a buyer I restrict myself to trusted members with a good track history. As a seller I insist on insured postage or, as has sometimes happened, a buyer requests economy postage but I obtain proof of postage and get written acceptance that the seller assumes the risks of transit.

Of 5 purchases, 1 seller didn't understand what they sold me and hadn't used it much so the item wasn't quite as described, but I was able to work round it and I'm 100% happy. What's nice about buying from here is that it tends to be from names you know so they're unlikely to be scam artists. And it's UK, I've only ever bought one item from the other place simply because there just strikes me that much more can go wrong with Transatlantic purchases. So yes, very happy.

I now have a super fast PC thanks to a motherboard and RAM that I bought from a fellow Pentax User member. It was extremely well packed with the original packing, instruction manual and driver CD. Best of all was the advice and ideas not only from the person that sold them to me but from the Forum in general.

First thing I look at in the classified is the seller's Location section, if blank it doesn't immediately bolster confidence.
