Cherry Blossom in November

Flower pics aren't really my thing, but the sharpness in the flowers is impressive I'm not so keen on the cut branch showing though, is there an angle that hides that? I have one of these in my garden as well, although from memory it is a long way away from flowering. You've got a mutant cherry

The flowers are very pretty it is a shame that they are right beside the ugly stump but there are time these things can't be helped, may be a narrower DOF would have given the blossom more emphasis or perhaps a touch of burning out of the stump end would help. Think I may have used a copy layer in multiply and then just cut back in the blossom area. Loads of choices and each to his own you may well like it just the way it is

'Stump'. That was the word I was looking for! I spent at least 5 minutes trying to think of it, and eventually came up with 'cut branch'

Yeah, totally agree I think I was more concerned about the blossom appearing in November than the photo, but feel free to have a play with it.

Maybe a different angle and a bit of blue card is the way to go? you need to watch the exposure too, theres evidence of the petals burning out, I'd do a bit of bracketing.
I think your only posting these to make us all jealous of the Spanish winter sun, well its working, I've just turned the heating up a notch

Well talking about the Sun, I did try to get a bit closer but the angle was casting a shadow from the lens, anyway no excuses points taken, I will try harder if the fruit survives

Global warming doesn't work properly where I live. I hope it last a little longer in Andalucia as I'm planning to go in a couple of days (airlines are basicly giving tickets to Malaga for free) Seville, Cadiz, Jeres de la Frontera and perhaps a short detour to Morocco on my list. Any location tips from an "insider"?
As for your pic: an slightly overcast day, as close as possible and perhaps a mono conversion would be my approach.

Slightly Off Photgraphic Topic here...but...Joe,somewhere I saw a website of "who not to fly with.Global warming doesn't work properly where I live.
