So yes, it still applies... you get what you pay for.

Actually this is not necessarily the case at all!

There are loads of scammers taking your money without sending you what you paid for (or even anything)
In other cases budget supplies can be from exactly the same OEM source. For example, laboratory supplies often have significant markup - even when the goods are standard (I can remember being quoted over £200 for a 8MB PC card memory for a lab instrument when a top manufactures 32MB one was listed at £16)

It is however, generally true that you don't get more than you pay for.

Ady - I hope your kit proves up to your requirements!

I think if you put in "studio flash kit" into ebay you would very quickly be able work out what we are talking about.(given the clues above)

The point is, you asked the questions. So why should we have to 'work it out' to know what on earth you are talking about.

I'm not intrested in hearing from the you get what you pay for brigade unless they have actully used the kits I am talking about.

If you are specific, we can give good advice. Your post was very vague, which is why you got no response. Why should we be bothered to work out what you are trying to say, if you can't be bothered to be specific?

Well said, Peter, my thoughts entirely. If the OP had actually given the necessary information there are a lot of people here who may have made wothwhile contributions to the thread.

Webba and Pentaxanne clearly have some sort of telepathic commmunication channel.

In the Days of Film some photographers used to send strips of negatives to magazines, presumably expecting them to print them all up to see if they wanted to use them. That didn't happen, no-one has the time or money to waste.

A bit of effort to explain an enquiry in the first place will pay dividends.

Are you really happy with the minimal comments of just one person when with a bit of effort on your part you could have had constructive comments from many many more? Some of whom have been in this business for years.

Oh, sorry, this is your idea of fun, isn't it.

1: You were more than a little vague.
2: Nobody did answer your original post.

AT least now you know why.

Thanks for dropping in webba.

somehow I expect you'd be the type that would respond , less than kindly to a poster that starts a thread with :
"Thinking about buying one of those ebay cheap lens's , has anybody got one or used one? please tell me what you think .

I'm not intrested in hearing from the you get what you pay for brigade unless they have actully used the lens I am talking about.

Thanks in advance"

you do realize that with less than twenty posts, you start off asking stupid questions then proceed to making insults at those who try to assist you, you're not likely to win many friends.... never mind answers to future questions... don't you?
