Irecently bought one of these to replace an older Pentax. Its in nice condition and was not expensive. However it displays a message CF card error.I tried to reformat from the menu but it made no difference. It has a fugifilm 356mb CF card and I am intending as a next step to replace it but I wanted to ask whether it matters if I simply buy on-line a 1GB Transend Remax or if I need to buy a dedicated card ?. I also have thought is there any problem getting prints processed in the likes of Boots -if one does not normally use a printer ? Would appreciate any comment from another user of this model camera.

You'll need to check if there's a maximum size of card that can be used, as this is quite old now. Apart from that, any compatible card will do, and that will mean most makes.

Just take the card to Boots, Jessops or similar and they'll be able to help you out with printing.
Best regards, John

Many thanks John and indeed for such fast response. Yes this camera is around 10 years old but seemingly little used -the previous owner seemed to hoard cameras and his son sold it to me. But if I get over this little problem I am much happier with the quality than a modern slimline one. But in any case I have the built in memory. I will take a chance on the 1GB card I think is ok -will post the result- in case useful info for others!
