Cascade de Jarraud

Apologies for going a bit nuts on the photos recently. I'm making the most of both the wonderful time of year and my last couple of weeks before the camera is returned. This is a small series of waterfalls in the area, unspectacular but a very pleasant setting. A bit like Swallow Falls but (even) smaller. I was disappointed with my efforts in summer but the autumn leaves add a lot and I'm quite pleased with these, but as always please feel free to suggest imprpovement:

Nice shots, agree that the autumn leaves add a lot of interest. 2 and 4 are paricularly nice compositionally. I think no. 4 is my favourite.

Wow - what a beautiful looking place, and the pics aren't too shabby either. I like them all but 3 and 5 really stand out for me - 3 especially - I really like the goldish light coming through the trees in the mid background.

Lovely set of images, love nos. 2,3 & 4 in particular.

Would love to get some close ups of the rusty mechanics on the last one.

Looks like a beautiful setting to explore.

Lovely colours, sound composition and I do like the way the water has been rendered.

#'s 3 and 4 really appeal, #4 moreso. They do look a little flat though.


Here, I kept detail in the white spot of the water by selectively 'dodging' that area, and brightened the image overall. I then added a slight soft focus effect. Hope you don't mind.

I like them all, but tend to agree with Pauly that they are a little flat.
I'd also crop the first one to the top of the rocks, to my mind it focuses attention to the waterfall.

Gareth, smoke on the water. That's very catchy. I might try to do something with that idea, maybe write a song.

I couldn't resist it 'cos you have taken a photograph of a very nice scene. This will look great printed up large!
