CAR RALLY

The village festival today included a vintage car rally so here is a selection of snaps; the problem with a show like this is the distracting and unsympathetic setting, with people milling about, other cars and houses in the background etc. so for the car shots I decided to mask out everything except the subject.

That's always the issues with an sort of similar show, well shot and presented Rob.

Brilliant set. A picture of the entire car, with people milling around or distracting background is going to win no prizes.

I've pretty much stopped taking photos at static car shows for exactly that reason, it's just too difficult to get a decent view without people standing in the way. As someone who also exhibits a car at these shows, it's very nice that people are interested enough to come and look at the cars, it just doesn't make for much of a photo. I think I prefer the detail close-ups in the first three photos to the masked-off cars.
