Canon, Nikon & Sony - a revelation!

Pentax are still renowned for the lenses they make for CCTV equipment, with them quite often being specified in the high end applications, along with Fujinon.

However the mass marketing ploy of stack um high , get them to do everything, market them well is slowly eroding this and people with out experience are buying into the marketing.

I think Pentax need to work more with the people who write the reviews, sell the equipment, as well as the end users. After all is "iPod" the best MP3 player or just the badge one every one wants.

How ofter do you get asked, what camera do you use? A entry level Nikkon is seen, by most, as a better option than the K10 and K20's, because that is what they know and are comfortable with.

Hopefully the sharing with Samsung will help to improve things and Pentax do seem to be doing more marketing.

polchraine, your location details are running into the text of your message, it might be a good idea to reduce their horizontal dimension a bit.

The current Canon range feels very flimsy indeed. There are however a couple of things I like about them. The exposure meter seems to do a better job compared to the *ist-DS and K20D and the shutter and mirror are much quieter.

I was browsing in Dixons at the Airport a few days ago. There was a large Nikon Banner and a few Nikon cameras up for sale. No other brands at all.
However at the end of one isle there was a very good selection of Pentax binoculars, so whilst they may not stock Pentax cameras at least the brand is still about in the shops.

Why not keep a good thing to ourselves let them pay through the nose for there choice

Because the more people that use the brand the more money can be spent on making it even better.
A friend of mine has a Canon 450D and recently bought a Nikon D90 .. I must say the Canon did indeed feel pretty flimsy but I was impressed with the D90.
Pity it wouldn't accept the aperture via body with my Adaptall 2 lenses (apparently only the D300 and upwards can do that) otherwise I would have been sorley tempted to borrow it for a few days.

If you put a space after OSL and SEA at least your location would be placed on multiple lines...

By the way, judging from the airport codes, I would guess you are a pilot or something. The main idea about location is to state your home place, I would think.
