Can't get focus lock on

Hi there,was at the first race of Scottish Mx championship at Tain today ,came home downloaded the card ,hardly any of the shot were in focus ,not a happy bunny because we couldn't have had better weather . This is my second outing with the K10D and sigma 17-70 f2.8-f4.5 shooting Mx ,getting a bit disillusioned now ,it's not as though i'm a new comer to shooting Mx .Here are a couple of examples.The exif information hopefully will help if it's me (i hope it is,but i'm not doing anything differently from when i had canon and pentax before )Thanks for looking and i eagerly await anyones advise and help . Your's seriously frustrated Tog 1... 2... 3...

Ah yes Mike, you're right ^^
From what I read out of the EXIF data from the K10D (bad) photos the focus seem to be on infinite so yes it didn't catch focus.
