Can someone please explain something?

Question:
At what point does a lens stop being a wide-angle lens.
Is it at 20mm, 35mm, 50mm ?? I just don't know.
I have taken some photographs which (IMO) look wide angle at 18mm, I want to get away from this on occasions.

Thanks in advance

Technically, wide angle means wider than the normal angle of view of the human eye, which is commonly believed to be around 46mm in 35mm film terms. That's the reason that the 50mm lenses are termed 'normal'.

Other sources determine that the object focal length of the eye = 16.7 mm and the image focal length of the eye = 22.3 mm.

Shorter than 50mm is considered wide angle, longer, and it's telephoto.

As Peter's refering to 35mm film focal lengths, we can translate that to digital by dividing by 1.5, so focal lengths shorter than about 30mm can be considered wide angle on digital. 50mm is a short telephoto.
