Cameras with K mount

I knew Ricoh and Samsung used a type of Pentax K mount but not Chinon or any of these . Popular was it not!!

The maddening thing is the number of camera manufacturers who made something almost but not quite like a K-mount. Especially that weird Ricoh pin business!

I would imagine Pentax looked at the success of the M42 mount and hoped for similar results with the K mount. Sadly not many adopted it.

Strangely enough it was a Tokina I compared it with, it's about 3 times as long on the Chinon lens.

I'm sure I've seen a thread somewhere about being able to saw them off.

I have a Tokina AT-X 28-85mm which is a very nice piece of kit too, although more useful on MF film bodies.

I also have the Tokina AT-X 28-85mm and rate it highly, although it doesn't get used as often on my K-X as it did on my old Chinon CP7-M. I find it takes very 'natural' looking pictures and is surprisingly high in resolution. Just lacks a little in contrast compared to the newer lenses.
