You're right Don, sometimes the truth is hard to handle...
When I was processing the images I sat gazing at the first one, well chuffed at my decision to buy the K20, such detail, such rich tones were the thoughts that went through my head. Then I checked the EXIF data to check what aperture I'd used this was from the DS!
One thing I will say is that the K20 is so much easier to use in the studio just by having the 'X' setting on the dial, I was forever knocking the DS onto 1/250 or something when handling the camera.
Prices of previously owned DSs should go through the roof now.

Makes me smile seeing this, then thinking back to people that have abandoned the Pentax ship because they are not "professional" and can't produce the same results as brands like N* and C*
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.
Apparently.

look at it this way: they can only abandon so many ships before they drown in the knowledge that they just can't take decent photos...

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

conclusive proof that it's the photographer pressing the button who makes the photo!
There are a lot of people out there who "need" better quality lenses/bodies who could learn a lot from looking at what you have achieved here with a 6MP body and the "kit" telephoto.

As I said, I miss my Ds, and do sometimes regret the K20D which replaced it.
My darling husband wrecked the Ds within a few weeks of having it - he left it out of it's case on the back seat of the car and when he had to slam on the brakes it went flying to it's death .
I am never truly happy with the photos from the K20D - whereas anything I considered a keeper from the Ds was always something I was proud of.

The more you look around at what is sometimes posted on general photography forums by people with very expensive gear (from any manufacturer) the more these comments ring true

That said, it does show that fantastic shots can be had from "lesser" cameras if the time and effort is put in.
Apparently.
