Camera bag dividers

They are part of the bag as originally supplied so I think I'd be looking to return it. They are integral to the way the bag works.
No doubt Lowepro could supply them but the cost might outweigh any saving you have currently made.

Hi,
I have just bought a lowepro 100 slingshot camera bag from the bay and to my dissapointment it has turned up with no velcro dividers.
I have emailed the guy to see if he just didnt put them in as the ad doesnt state that there is no dividers.
If he doesnt have them is there anywhere i can get these velcro dividers to fit the bag as i cant find any anywhere?
Ross
I would say that the bag is not fit for purpose and therefore you would qualify for buyer protection should the seller not agree. Open an eBay Claim and escalate to a claim (if paid via PayPal) if the seller does not play ball. Just make sure that the seller did not mention the missing dividers or sold the bag as 'spares or repair only' and you will be fine.Hi,

I got the 200AW and 300AW and they are great bags but pretty useless without the dividers.
It might be a genuine mistake but if it has been sold as used and the missing dividers where not mentioned you got all the rights to send the item back.
Do not be intimidated by 'Sold as seen' or 'no returns' etc. if an item is unfit for purpose or the seller was misleading you got the right of a full refund.
Just make sure you send the item back via recorded delivery.
PM me if you need further help as I deal on eBay regular and know my way round over there.
Kind regards

Then the situation is clear. First approach the seller, as you have been doing, and give him the opportunity to put things right. If he fails or is unwilling to do so, then start a claim with PayPal or eBay as appropriate and you will very likely get a full refund.

Inacurate advert and item not fit for purpose. Give the seller a deadline to respond back to your eMail (I usually give 48h).
DO NOT HESITATE to contact eBay after that also let the seller know of what you are intending to do at every step and give him the chance to set things right.
But also do not hesitate to report him after the first timeline YOU set is up and do not delete ANY emails in relation to this mail as you may be asked to produce them.
If I would have been the seller you would have heard from me within one hour. Sadly you have to calculate in now that he may be on Christmas holidays or 'frozen out' or whatever else excuse he can find right now that is why it is important to set time lines.
Also remember that you only got 45 days for a claim via eBay/PayPal and some sellers try to get you over that limit in whatever way possible.
If you sent the item back SEND IT VIA RECORDED DELIVERY OR USE myHERMES and include signature required on reception (as both are traceable over the internet and the signature shows that the item is back with the seller, both will be required by PayPal!
DO NOT LET THE SELLER INTIMIDATE YOU!
I may answer in the evening but if you need help or just have a question regarding the whole process let me know and I help you.
Any chance of PM me the item number to me so I could see the advert?
If you cant, tell me here and I PM you so you can reply to my PM.
The reason for this is that I sold an 100AW two weeks ago for £10 & 5.99p&p via myHERMES Courier Delivery and as mine had no dividers, I wonder if it is the same chap I sold it too, just that I made it clear that it had no dividers (if it would have been complete I would have offered in here first anyway)).
There should also a Heard in UV Pen painted on the top inside flap on the bottom.
This was a private sale via Dorset Sales and as you live in Somerset, which is not to far away, I just wonder.

I would add to SmutjeUK's advice that return postage costs should be paid by the seller if it's not as described.

That may be a bit of a push. Some sellers do it, most don't and you do not have a legal right to get the return postage refunded, but, it may be worth a shot.

It's also a good idea to start off communications in a pleasant way - demanding buyers who lay on the threats get the seller's back up straight away and you may well get less of a settlement.
I really would start off with the assumption that the seller will respond positively - if not then just start a case.

If the bag was sold as a buy it now it falls under the distance selling regulations. In which case, unless the returns information in the listing says otherwise return postage must be paid by the seller. (Saying No returns is not legally allowed for BIN or relevant for goods not as described)
In E-Bays safety centre I find this 'In general, the seller is obliged to pay for the return postage & packaging unless they have specifically provided, within their returns policy, that they require the buyer to pay for it.' Which can apparently apply even if you just change your mind

Buyer protection is for 45 days not twenty. Obviously you start pleasantly as I mentioned in my first post as the seller may have made a genuine mistake here and you have to give the seller his rights to make good on a mistake.Dont wait to long..After twenty days of on site sale..Ebay will ingnore any claims.
As for return postage to be paid by sellers, this is a bit more tricky. Most business sellers will do so but as a private seller you may find that they will not do so and may not have to do so either. I did not have much problems like this over the years anyway.
Lets first see how the seller reacts to his complained before bringing out all the guns.

Ok so i have some good news.
The seller has responded, he has recently moved house and says that he is sure they are somewhere in the boxes as he is sure he wouldn't have thrown them out. He is spending today looking for them and if he cannot find them he will give me a full refund.
Thankyou so much for all the help from everyone here, it has been amazing.
Ross.

No problem, glad to hear that you got this positive response. Should you need further help just contact the forum again.
One thought through, Maybe you can get the bag for cheap if the seller can not find the dividers?
As they are made from Velcro and padded hard board you may be able to custom make some dividers yourself if you get the bag very cheap (£10 would be fair).
Just thought through?
Maybe the seller would be happy to do so as well as otherwise what would he do with the bag? It would only cost him again to re-post it and who knows if he sells it without the dividers.
Anyway, all the best and glad you seem to get it sorted one way or the other.
