By Royal appointment......

Hi All,

After her recent visit to Milton Keynes, the queen popped over to Stow School, in the afternoon to open a new building (called the Queens building) and to plant a tree next to the one that queen victoria planted.

I managed to get a couple of shots of her arriving, but by the time it came to planting the tree, the light had faded too much for my lens/film combo

Anyway below are my two best shots, comments critiques welcome.

either there's a hell of a lot of subsidence or you camera is not level. I'm not sure what it is.

The Grenadier Guard needs a larger cap.

Is the 45 degree angle deliberate?

The 45 degree slant was me taking a picture in a panic whilst getting elbowed by the crowd,

I was just happy that they came out in focus, and not blurred, Maybe I shoould try and straighten them out a bit,

Well it's much straighter, but why not completely straighten it?

I would also be inclined to make the crop even on both sides of the image.

I'd clone a few of the blemishes out too, while I was at it.

I'm intrigued to know why the guy on the left is clearly wearing a borrowed uniform - every item is at least a size too big.

He is the school-master in charge of the cadet force. Most days, he teaches Latin, but on Wednesday afternoons he borrows a uniform and becames a colonel in the Territorial Army. He's only been doing it for one term, but he's saving up and will soon be able to afford to go to Dege and Skinner and have his own uniform made.
