Few shots from the Saturday when we had every kind of weather you could think of from hail to sunshine. Was hard to narrow down to a small set, hopefully this will give you a feel for the day.

Fantastic set, and they do give a great sense of the day. That first one though, nought wrong with your panning technique, what was you shutter speed on that one if i may be so bold to ask.
I know what i like, If not always why.

Thanks Derek, that one was at 1/80th, not many of my 1/80ths got through as my hit rate was not great , more success at 1/100th or higher but not as much blurring with that shutter speed.

A fantastic set indeed George. Love the moment you have caught with no 10 and also the spray in no 14

Nice set George, thought I might run into you on Sunday but no luck. I spent the morning by the chicane and the afternoon watching the racing from Hollywood.

The 1/80th pan at 250mm is a tough ask, were you using a monopod?

Thanks for the likes of some of my shots on facebook btw

AndrewA you might find the odd shot of a grid girl or two on my facebook page BTCC Amatuer photography amongst the cars or if George doesn't object I can add some shots of mine to this thread

Thanks Drew, the ladies are from Sunday and I'm still going through those pics.

Thanks Pete, I was looking out for another Pentax but didn't see one. We may have passed each other during the pitwalk as I believe you were there for that ? I watched the racing from Hollywood as well other than the last race which was from Redgate.

We were probably very close to each other at some points of the day lol.

For panning shots I prefer handheld and try and get a smooth action following the cars round, just started using the monopod for head on shots, no 14 above where you're waiting for the cars to come through and it allowed me to push the camera lens right up to the mesh fencing as well.

Hang on a minute Drew, what makes you think I would ask such a thing?

BTW George, where are all the ladies?

My fav is the tyre truck, great shot.

Few shots from Sunday (including some for Drew and David !), I don't tend to take too many on race day if I've been to qualifying most shots from the pit walk and paddock area.

What a great variety of shots over the two posts - in the first set 4 and 14 stand out for me, in the second set 23, 24 & 27 - but you don't seem to have any weak/poor shots at all.

I sometimes find shots from motor racing events a little dull, but not these - Thanks for posting

Great images. Good photography all round in these sets. Some impressive action shots and eye candy.

Best regards

Do you have a media pass George? The grid and pit shots certainly look like you do

I think I've got about as good as I'm likely to get at panning shots, need to work on diversity now which I guess also comes from knowing the tracks better

I see you found the Team Hard comp on FB along with John Beardon there's some good Pentax shots entered there, lets show the Canikon masses how it's done

You've stuck some impressive panning shots on your FB page, I always find the qualifying day an easier option for getting round the track and tacking pictures. Race days are generally rammed and make taking pics harder work.

No media pass but I was fortunate enough to get access to the grid walk before a race.

Regards

George
